Tonight we light the first Hanukkah candle.

This holiday is proof that light will always triumph over the darkness. We stand with the Jewish community in Australia and denounce this evil antisemitic terror attack that took place today. Darkness will not win. Light will overcome. The Jewish people are strong, and we are not going anywhere!

Empires have tried to extinguish the light of the Jewish people:

Babylon failed.

Rome failed.

Nazis failed.

Hamas failed.

Because Jewish light doesn’t go out.

Not now. Not ever!
